On my first day in Coventry I wandered around the city for a few hours with no real destination in mind. Just a few blocks from my hotel, I stumbled upon the Coventry Cathedral ruins. The original cathedral was built in the late 14th century, and was heavily bombed by the Germans in 1940. Only a few walls and the outer spire survived, but they’ve taken great pains to maintain the original site while building a new, more modern church alongside of it.
The cathedral has a virtual tour available if you’re interested in more history. Here’s a few photos I took as I walked around:
No updates to speak of as I haven’t been playing poker since I left Galway Ireland. I’ll be playing in a few tournaments while I’m here in Coventry and will update with results.
Goodbye for now,
